Why group chats are bad at picking a place
The same five messages happen in every thread before anyone commits to a location. Here is why, and what actually breaks the loop.
Every group chat trying to pick a restaurant goes through the same motions: someone throws out an option, two people go quiet, one person says "anywhere is fine," and twenty minutes later nothing has been decided.
It is not that the group cannot agree — it is that a chat thread has no memory of who has actually weighed in. A vote buried under forty messages is indistinguishable from a vote that never happened.
Options need to be seen, not scrolled past
A list of pinned locations that everyone can see at once, with a running tally, turns a scattered conversation into a single shared object. Nobody has to scroll back to check what was suggested.
